To start, it's written from something of a Buddhist triumphalist standpoint. The talk is given in English with simultaneous translation into Thai. The mind of every sentient being discriminates, putting these things into convenient categories, labeling them "good," "bad," and "indifferent" according to how it perceives them. Statements like "Early Buddhist philosophy is a royal highway for all those who wish to attain the summum bonum. This is the final talk of the retreat. And there are, of course, gradations within those categories. William said: “We want to take meditation off the cushion and spread it into the workplace.” Graham explained the principles translated simply into everyday life. The staff aim to bring Buddhist practice to the workplace by following a code of ethics based on Buddha's five precepts, which include helping others, truthfulness and generosity. Deal with modern ethical interests. Can we really live a life in which Badiou's notion of Events as “explosive” or “out of joint” or “haphazard” are experienced as the normal, but wondrous, reality of our everyday lives?
